Fairwood Partners and Nomura won the grand prize of the “Eco & Design Booth Award” in the Eco Products 2010

In the “Eco Products 2010”, which was held from December 9 to 11 in Tokyo, Fairwood Partners and Nomura won the grand prize of the “Eco & Design Booth Award 2010” with their joint exhibition titled “Fairwood Café in Eco Products 2010.”

The Fairwood Café booth was run with the aim of offering visitors the opportunity to learn about “fairwood,” which denotes environmentally and socially friendly woods. The team successfully created a warm and relaxing space by applying “fairwood” on all sides of the booth.

The most impressive display of the booth was a large wooden object in a swirl shape, representing a ’circulation’ or ‘material recycling.’ This object was made from all “fairwood” materials. Wood board which made up the walls of the booth was used as floor materials in previous exhibitions and the wooden floor materials, originally made from wood thinned from domestic forests was also reused from other previous exhibitions. Visitors also enjoyed aroma of cedar tree filling the booth.

The Eco & Design Booth Award is the awards to be presented to the best three exhibitors who have held an outstanding exhibition which was designed and built aiming to fully improve performance across several metrics including reuse/recycling efficiency, eco-design and management, and visitor friendliness. A wooden trophy, made from FSC certified wood, was presented to the representatives of Fairwood Partners and Nomura.
